GBA’s 3rd TEC Meeting during sideline of ETWG 2, Brasilia

The TEC meeting gathered over 50 participants from 12 countries and 9 international organizations, focusing on advancing the early initiatives of the GBA with significant attendance from G20 member countries. Since its inception, the GBA has grown to include 24 countries and 12 international organizations. The temporary executive committee approved membership for six additional countries, highlighting the increasing significance of biofuels in the global energy context.

The discussion emphasized the support from the G20 presidency for bioenergy, particularly the role of biofuels in environmental sustainability and socio-economic development. The foundational contributions of key members were recognized as essential to the GBA's establishment and ongoing progress. The Interim Director General highlighted the GBA's involvement in major global forums. Representatives from member nations discussed the importance of establishing a comprehensive work plan and strategic direction, expressing optimism about overcoming the challenges facing biofuel development.

Participants from various countries highlighted their unique situations and how the GBA could assist in enhancing their domestic biofuels industries by clarifying misconceptions and providing a structured framework. They pledged support for the GBA’s efforts. Member international organizations offered strong backing for the initiatives, committing to share their platforms, expertise, and resources.

The meeting concluded with alignment on enhancing collaboration and knowledge sharing among GBA members to promote sustainable biofuel practices globally.
