GBA co-hosted the “G20 GBA SAF, Future Fuels and Future Chemicals Forum” event
Global Biofuels Alliance together with the Government of Brazil, the Clean Energy Ministerial, and the International Energy Agency hosted an important forum in ETWG3, Brazil, to discuss the future of sustainable aviation fuels (SAF), and other new energy solutions. Topics touched upon included economic viability of future
fuels, role of chemical sector in generating employment and interplay between various sustainable fuels. The event drew over 100 participants from various sectors, including industry leaders and policymakers. It focused on combining environmental sustainability with economic viability in the development of future fuels.
Key discussions revolved around advancing technology in biofuel production, the economic aspects of SAF, and the regulatory changes needed to maximize biofuel adoption. Additionally, the importance of international cooperation and standard setting for a smooth transition to SAF was emphasized. The panels explored various topics, from the practicality of SAF to future fuels and chemicals, aiming to align global efforts toward more sustainable energy practices.
The forum concluded by highlighting the need for ongoing global collaboration and simpler, more supportive policies to promote SAF adoption. This initiative aims to sync with wider climate objectives and establish a foundation for future policy-making in the sustainable energy realm, balancing environmental goals with economic considerations.
